Mitsubishi Repair: Mighty Max running rough, vacuum leaks, emission control system

Question
I replaced the plugs and wires in my '94 Mighty Max and the engine felt amazing...very responsive, tight, powerful. Life was great....I took it for a ride and while accelerating I revved the engine to near red line while shifting from 1st to 2nd. Things where fine there was no vibration as there was before the replacement and it was idling perfectly! I went through the process of revving to near red line when shifting from 1st to 2nd and all of the sudden the truck lost power and was running extremely doggy. I pushed in the clutch and coasted to a stop. Popped the hood and found that the wire traveling from the distributor cap to the ignition coil was disconnected. I reconnected it but the truck would not run the same. It ran but with much less power and was doggy again. What do you think!

Answer
Theodore: I would try to go easy on the truck, if it is a 1994, that motor has a lot of miles on it. Have you ever done anything with the engine? Well anyway here is some ideas for your right out of my "repair manual"...incorrect ignition timing, excessive play in distributor shaft, worn rotor, distributor cap or wires, need to replace the stark plugs, fuel injection system out of adjustment or excessively worn, brakes binding, automatic transaxle fluid level incorrect, faulty coil, clutch slipping, fuel filter clogged, emission control system not functioning properly, low or uneven cylinder compression pressures, obstructed exhaust system and vacuum leaks. So there are things to check, you see if could be one of many problems. I do hope this helps and God bless: Linda
