Mitsubishi Repair: 1995 galant, fluid leaks, fluid temperature

Question
where is the plug to drain my tranny fluid or how do you drain it

Answer
Jessa: You will have to put the car up on jack stands and roll under it, to see the plug. It would be on the bottom of the transmission. Once under the car, you will be able to see the transmission and where it hooks to the engine. The plug would be located at the bottom of the case. But before you start doing this, you need to get the right kind of transmission fluid for your car as there are all kinds. And each model has the kind that works for it. But then you also need to buy a filter and I would put some transmission conitioner in when doing this change too. You can also buy that at the parts store, but when there buy yourself a repair manual for your car. They cost around $20.00 and are well worth the money. It would walk you through what you have to do and explain things too. Don't run your car to long as to pull it into a garage or something when getting ready to do this change as that fluid temperature can exceed 350-degrees. So becareful, wear gloves and make sure none of the fluid leaks on you. You will have to have the right tools to do this job, a pan to catch the old fluid, also will then have to remove the filter but still that repair manual would help so much to walk you through this job. I hope this helps and God bless: Linda
