Mitsubishi Repair: 95 eclipse manual trans. fluid, mitsubishi eclipse, trans fluid

Question
I have a 95 mitsubishi eclipse rs (2.0 L, non-turbo) with manual transmission. I'm in the process of replacing the clutch. I need to buy transmission fluid but when I went to local parts stores (autozone/NAPA) they told me that the fluid I need is Texaco MTX and they don't have it. Then I called the dealer and they told me to use 85W90 gear oil. Do you know what kind of fluid i should use and where to get it.

Answer
GL-4 75W-90 or 75W-85 is the recommended fluid. The syncros in these cars are terribly notorious for wearing out and a fluid called Syncro Shift from BG works extremely well in helping the shifting characteristics of this transmission. If you can't find it, any GL-4 rated 75-90 would be what I would install.
