Mitsubishi Repair: 95 eclipse stalling, vacuum leak, fuel pump

Question
I have a 95 eclipse with 133,000 miles.  Recently the car has been just been shutting off while I was driving it or when i go to start it.  I can be driving at 60 mph and out of no where the car just drops all rpms and dies.  Sometimes it will start back up and sometimes it will just crank.  If the car is left to idle it also will occasionally die.  I think it might be the fuel pump, I would really love some feedback. Thank you

Answer
Barbara: I would have your car coded, as this might be a problem with the computer or the sensors that are all through the engine. Also you need to have the fuel pump checked it could be pumping yes, but not enough as it should be doing. And you might have a vacuum leak someplace, as this also causes the problems you are writing about. How old is the stark plugs, wires, distributor and rotor? In namely a tune up, when is the last time you did one of those? As that might be your problems too. So here are some ideas to try. I hope something helps and God bless! Linda
