Mitsubishi Repair: Water in drivers side floorboard, hearing water, accelarator

Question
What is causing water to leak onto the driver's side floorboard?
I took a trip from Dallas to San Antonio, about 4 1/2 hrs...when I arrived there wasn't much water in the floorboard but it was damp. On the ride home I felt occasional drops of water hit my foot while pressing the accelarator. When I arrived home and parked the vehicle and began to get out....there was a pool of water in the driver's side floorboard-there was also water in the back driver's side floorboard-I'm guessing from hitting bumps, turing, etc. Once I saw the water I remembered hearing water moving around as I was driving but with the music on and the sound of the outside night I didn't pay much attention during the drive.
This doesn't seem to only happen when the A/C has been on because I ran the A/C more on the drive to San Antionio. The carpet being wet and closed up in the heat is an awful smell!! Any ideas??

Answer
Tonya: You will need to get your car into a shop someplace, as there  could be a leak in around the evaporator inside your car. On really hot days, if you run the ac to much and the evaporator is not doing a good job keeping the water evaporated, it will end up on the floor of your car. So you need to have that checked too. You don't say the year of the car or the miles. But still you will have to get your car into a shop someplace to get this fixed. If you let it go, it will only get worse. Hope this helps and good luck! Linda
