Mitsubishi Repair: 99 gst problem, weird type, pitched sound

my 99 gst has a weird type of flutter (not sound flutter, u can feel the car
flutter when u give it alot of juice) it runs fine when u run it normal.. but as
soon as i punch it, near the high end of gears the car flutters (its not bogging
i know that for sure) anyone help?! oh and one day when i started up the car
it sqeeked real loud on start up.. it was just one high pitched sweek on start
up (if that helps at all) thx guys/gals

Shawn: Check your drive belt as it is sounds like that is slipping. That would be the high pitched sound you hear when you first start the car up. If it is not the belt then you could have a bearing going out on one of the pulleys. Have you ever had the timing belt checked and changed on your car? How many miles does your car have? Most companys say that should be done at 60,000 miles. So that could be your problem too. I would get that looked at too. But still it would be the belts that would cause the noise on start up but just get that timing belt checked if your car has over 60,000 miles. Hope this helps and good luck! Linda
