Mitsubishi Repair: O2 sensor, o2 sensors, wire colors

I am installing an O2 sensor on 03 montero (big body). Left side before converter. my question is this: I am installing a universal replacement and the color codes don't match. OE sensor has 2 blks, 1 blue, 1 wht. The Universal has 2 whts, 1 blk, 1 gray. How do they match up?

Mark: Either you car has two O2 sensors and some do. Or else I would say the parts store did not give you the right part. I would be taking it back to check. Sometimes the person does not put in the right numbers, or else whoever put it on the computer did not do right but I would be checking that out. But then explain to the parts store your problem and sometimes they can explain what you need to do. What with the different colors in the wires, sometimes the parts stores change the wire colors too. I hope this helps and good luck! Linda
