Mitsubishi Repair: Problems with my auto gear box Galant 1990, shift linkage, transaxles

Hi,

I've got an old 1990 Galant with an automatic gear box.

When I set "D" on the gear box, my car starts going... Sweet... 1st gear, 2nd, 3nd.... and then, whilst still speeding up, the gear cant go any further and i'm on neutral (still on the "D" position").

It looks like it disengages somewhere back to neutral...

Any idea?

Tony: I would check and adjust the shift linkage on the automatic transaxles.There is also a neutral start switch that could be malfunctioning too.  If none of this fixes your problem, I would look at a sensor as one might be weak. Hope this helps and good luck! Linda
