Mitsubishi Repair: 95 mitsubishi esclipe automatic, automatic transmission problems, neutral safety switch

Question
my car seems fine one day and then the next it won't shift to second or any other, it stays stuck in first. Could it be the input or output sensor or neutral safety switch? Do you have any ideas??? thank-you

Answer
D'Ann,
Automatic transmission problems are not easy to diagnose without checking the control unit for trouble codes or opening up the transmission itself.  Sometimes it's as simple as a loose linkage cable  or low/dirty transmission fluid.  Your best bet would be to take the car to a transmission shop.  Some offer free diagnosis and estimates.  They would be your best bet to figuring out the exact problem.
Good luck!
