Mitsubishi Repair: 96 GALANT-NO SPARK, mitsubishi galant, senors

Question
i have a 96 mitsubishi galant and shes getting no spark, i replaced the distributor, but no luck, its receving power into it, but not out, any chance ya know if the senors are bad and which ones or the ecu? thank you.

Answer
CJ: You know don't you that Mitsubishi farmed out the building of their computers to another company that did not build very good ones. In that a piece will start to die, as it goes it leaks onto other pieces in the computer and with time it kills off the computer. It shows up in many ways but one of them is no stark. As well as other things but the list to to long to put down there. You need to get your car coded. AutoZone does it for free and that would rule out any problem with the computer or the sensors. I believe Sears sells a hand held meter that you can plug into your car and it too will code things for you. Which would kick out any problems. Or if your car is to old, no AutoZone then you will have to buy a repair manual and a voltmeter; starting with the battery of your car work yourself around the car till you find the problem. The repair manual will explain the right readings that you need. I do know there is some recalls on your car, you might try the net to see what you can find there too. Might help you with your problem with your car. Are you sure the timing belt is ok, that will stop any stark too. Hope this helps and good luck! Linda
