Mitsubishi Repair: What are the things to be care of?, eclipse gt, manual car

Question
Hello Linda,

I am excited to ask a general question from you seeing the replies which people get from your posts and the help they have got.
I am buying Eclipse GT V6 5 speed Manual, 2004, 27K on it. All I wanted to know was that since this is my first manual car in US, what are the things I need to take care of Eclipse GT so that I can maintain it very well and get optimum value of it.
If you can forward me to some other resources/helpguides which can detail me about the care steps for this car, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks in advance for your reply...

Sardar: First off let me say, you can never take to good of care of your car. And don't let some shop that you that. Ok?! Surely with such a newer car, you had to have got a book with the car. In that book it tells you at what miles to have things checked over and fixed if need be. But every 3000 miles you should have the oil changed. Then that book should tell you at how many miles, well after you drive those miles when to do a tune up. When getting the oil changed on the car, check the fluid in the transmission, the car has to be up to temp to do this. Just check it, if low add a bit but again that book with the car should tell you how often to have that fluid changed and that filter too. The book that came with the car should explain everything to you, if you did not get such a book with the car; then order one from the dealer. I just not to long bought a 2001 Dodge mini-van and it had the book still with it. Your car is a 2004 and should have that book. But also you could do a check on line for things as well. I know where is all kinds of sites on line to help you out. But the best things would be that book just for your car. I am sure you are going to enjoy your car so much. They are easy on fuel but really fun to drive too. Hope this helped you a bit and good luck! Linda :o)
