Mitsubishi Repair: 1991 Eclipse 2.0 DOHC Automatic, fuse one, little old lady

88k miles. Will not go into overdrive. I don't know if overdrive light is supposed to come on when button is pushed, but it doesn't. Car was owned by one little old lady. Help and thanks!

Dennis: I think you have a relay out or a large fuse. When opening the hood look around by the engine, over on the driver's side of the car, up by the firewall is a large black box, on the top should tell what is in there. It would be relays and larger fuse one of those might control the overdrive. Or else over by the battery is two more such boxes, again one of those might have something in them that controls the overdrive. If no problem can be found there, it could be a bad switch and you will have to take the car to a shop to have that checked out. Hope this helps and good luck! Linda
