Mitsubishi Repair: mitsubishi spacewagon, oil seal, best bet

Question
Hi,

I wonder if someone could help. I have a spacewagon 2001, 2.4gdi that seems to have an oil leak. I did have the crankshaft oil seal replaced thinking it was that.

The oil leak seems to still be there but when you check the oil its full.....is there anything else i could check.

It drives great doesnt use any water or oil by the looks of it but there is still this thick black oil dripping from the drivers side of engine. by the belts

Thanks Roisin

Answer
Roisin: Your spacewagon can not be leaking very much oil if when you check it is still full. My guess would be that it is another seal that is leaking, either the balnace shaft oil seal or the oil pump seal. As they are over by the belts but shoot the leak could be someplace else but traveling over to the belt area to where you see it. I would say take your spacewagon to a shop and let them find the leak. Other wise you could go on guessing as to what is leaking and spending money for that. But not finding what is really leaking. A shop would be your best bet for finding that leak. Hope this helps and good luck!
