Mitsubishi Repair: mitsubishi 2001mirage, mitsubishi mirage, 2001 mitsubishi mirage

My daughter has a 2001 mitsubishi mirage, 2 door, her boyfriend was driving it and this box thing fell off the car...it is in the rear of the car on the passenger side,

what is this thing? a friend has told us he thinks it maye have something to do with emission, but we were hoping someone could tell us what it is...

Anna: I am sorry I have no idea what that would be. How is the car running now? Is it loud, in that the piece could be from the muffler or something else. You will have to take the car to a shop and get them to fix that. Or else buy yourself a repair manual, you can get them at any parts store from around $20.00 and it would explain what you be needing. I work mostly on Eclipses.
