Mitsubishi Repair: 1993 Plymouth Laser 1.8L has no fire, plymouth laser, autozone

Question
My son has a 1993 Plymouth Laser with a 1.8L that doesn't have any fire. We put in a new distributor and still don't have any fire. I have checked the voltage going into the coil and it is right at 12VDC and I have ohmed out the wires. We are at a loss.  Thanks!

Perry: Are you talking about stark? I would say if you have that voltmeter and then get a repair manual you could check out the car's sensors as well as the computer. You know don't you that Mitsubishi farmed out the building of their computers to another company that did not build very good ones. With time a piece in the computer will start to leak and then it kills off the computer. Sometime this will show up as no stark in some cars. So something to check, but you could have a sensor or more out or weak. How about the timing belt could it be broken or not on it's marks? No stark can be caused by a bad or weak sensor. But then the computer reads all these sensors through out the car's engine and in a matter of a few seconds sets the car up to run down the road. So if one of the sensors is bad, going bad or the computer is having problems, you car would be having problems. But also I would check that timing belt as your car is a 1993, have you ever replaced the timing belt or looked at it? Also AutoZone will code your car for free if you want to do that route. Hope this helps you and good luck! Linda :o)
