Mitsubishi Repair: Fuel Leak And Smell, fuel leak, fuel filter

Question
My 2000 Galant Is Leaking Gas And Smells In Cabin Every Time I Fill Up. What Is The Problem? Also Where Is The Fuel Filter?

Answer
Richard: You need to get your car into a shop and get that fixed. It might cause a fire, I think there is but I believe if I read it right, it is in the tank with the fuel pump. But the smell in the cabin is due I would say to break in the pipe that runs from where you put the fuel in, as it runs close to the body there and then on down to the tank. But it needs to be fixed. The shop would fix this for you as well as replace the fuel filter. But I do not think the filter is your problem. But I could be wrong. I do hope this helps you and good luck!
