Mitsubishi Repair: Head Lamps, 2001 mitsubishi mirage, mitsubishi mirage

Question
I have purchased Two head lamps for my 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage ES. I made an attempt replace them today, but instead of the entire lamp coming out of the socket, only the three pronged plug come out. Will I have to remove the entire assembly in order to replace the lamp?

Answer
Charles: I thought if your bulb is bad, you would only replace the bulb. If everything came out, could be your have something loose that should not be. And so you should check behind the head lamp, open the hood and look back behind the lamp. That is were you should be replacing the bulb. There should be a place, just inside the hood, behind the lamp, where you can unplug something or remove three screws, so you can get to the bulb to replace it. Remember not to touch the bulb with your hands, but wear gloves. Every car is different and so it hard for me to know for sure about your car. If nothing else buy a repair manual at any parts store for around $20.00 and check with it.  Hope this helps and good luck!
