Question
ok hopefully u can help me i'm stumped.  I have a 1992 mitsubishi 3000gt vr-4 i drove it for like 2 months and coil number 2 started to go bad i switched it and it went bad again 4 times, then one day i went to start the car and nothing i checked it out and none of the 3 coils are getting spark at all.  I was guessing either the crank positioning sensor or ecu but hopefully u can help because there both expensive thanks for the help.

Greg: Gee I wish I could help you more but you know don't you that Mitsubishi farmed out the building of their computers to a company which did not build very good ones. With time a piece in those computer will start to leak, killing off the computer with time. My guess is that your computer was dying and now had died. You could get a voltmeter and a repair manual for your car. Start with the battery work yourself around the motor, getting readings, the repair manual would tell you the right readings and then it would show you what is bad. You should be able to get a repair manual at any parts store for around $20.00. If you got a way to get the car there and a AutoZone store close by; they would code your car for free too. aother idea is to have your computer rebuild a lot of companies on the internet will do this. Or else go to a junk yard, find a car with same engine and all; put that in. The sensor you could also do that from a junk yard. My son had a car that had two sensors go, new they were $500.00. And he went to a junk yard got the two for $100.00 they work just as good. You kind of hate to put a lot of money into a part when your car is only worth so much by blue book, but yet if it is a good car; you hate to just let it sit too. Wish I had better news for you. Sorry about that. Hope this helps and good luck!
