motor is hard to start cold and keep running til warned up. Its going through 1qt of oil about every 100 miles. but it doesn't smoke. Its throwing oil not burning it. Furthermore, It just had a new rear main engine seal & clutch installed. And from what I could see, there's oil coming from the back of the top of the motor somewhere, possibly by the heads. Linda, please respond any ideas/hypothesis; much appreciated.

Grant: My idea of where the oil is leaking from would be your valve covers. The gaskets needs to be replaced. I got a mini-van that is a 2001 model, it uses just a bit of oil not burning it. And it's valve cover gaskets are needing to be replaced. I just have not got to it. So try that, now on the engine being hard to start when cold, I will tell you what my repair manual says about that one. Battery discharged or low., malfunctioning fuel system., injector(s) leaking., or distributor rotor carbon tracked. How about when is the last time you have a tune up done? How old is the battery? Always do the easy things for first and then move down the line of things to check. Hope these help you and good luck!
