Answer
Shane: Ideas from my repair manual, I am not sure that you need a new or to rebuild transmission. This is what the book has come up with, faulty clutch disc, release lever and bearing not assembled properly, pressure plate-to-flywheel bolts loose. You could have a leak in your hydraulic system too. I once broke a very small hose that kept the hydraulic oil work through the system. The car would not do the gears, and it jumped like you talked about. So you need to go to a parts store, buy a "repair manual" for your car, they cost around $20.00. And then find where all those hoses are and check to see if any of them are leaking or broken. If you can not buy a repair manual for your car, try your library they carry them. You could make a copy of the hoses and then would be able to find them. Other wise put your car into a shop someplace and have them find the problem. But I do not think you need a new transmission yet. Other wise if you want to go that way, try a junk yard, they always have transmissions you can buy then either rebuild them yourself or else get one all ready rebuilt. Hope this helps and good luck!
