my engine is blowed out  I had a oil change on 8-22-06  and on 12-05 -06 my car got hit and it was in the shop for 2 weeks and when i drove from the shop my oil light came on and the car shut out the auto shop  say it in not related accident but my car was find before they said my oil was low but I think that might not be true my car was running find

Shaquit: You had your oil changed in Aug.2006 and hopefully you had it changed again before Dec.2006 or else you did not put many miles on the car? I have my cars oil changed every 3000 miles. That is four months between oil changes but if you did not put many miles on the car. It would be fine. You don't say how many miles are on the car or what kind of a car it is. I am not going to say what you say is wrong but that is a lot of months between oil changes. Do you know as soon as you put that oil into your car and start it up, that oil starts to break down. That oil is what cleans and keeps the pars of the engine moving,good. So it is important to keep that oil changed. Like I said every 3000 miles. If your car used oil, but then you did check it often during those four months so you know, right? If your car got hit, think of the knock it took. That has to be hard on a car to be in a crash. I think you should have the oil changed and filter. See if that fixes your problem. Other wise you will have to take this up with the shop. But four months is a long time between changes. Is your car running ok, other than the oil light? You could try to unhook the neg. battery cable for about 5 minutes and rehook it. The computer might reset it's self and nothing more will come of it. But get that oil changed and do it every 3000 miles from now on. Hope this helps and good luck!
