Mitsubishi Repair: Windshield blower/defroster, mitsubishi eclipse gs, mitsubishi eclipse

Question
I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS and it appears that my windshield blower is not working properly. It blows air, but not warm enough to defrost the windshield. However, when I drive it then hot air blows in to defrost the windows and works fine from then on. I was thinking it may be the front cowl or something being blocked by leaves and junk. But it wouldn't blow air if it was...would it? And besides it blows air just fine when I'm driving around; if it was blocked I'm thinking that it wouldn't do that.

Answer
John,
There may be a problem with the heater core, or a problem with the flow of coolant in the heater core.  Put the vent on Recirculated air and see if you notice the air is warmer.  That could indicate a problem with too much fresh air entering or the vents not flowing properly.  If the problem persists, you can have a mechanic inspect your HVAC and ducting system.
Good luck!
