Mitsubishi Repair: water leaking on passenger side floor, radio clock, air vents

Question
I have a 2002 Mits. Galant that I bought this summer. Driving it after the first time it rained I heard water sloshing in the dash and later found that watter was leaking from the dash  onto passenger floor board. After a couple weeks the watter had completely drained out of the dash and I cleaned up the floor again and it rained again the next day(for 2 days straight) and the dash was full of weater once more and this time my speakers shorted out and the radio clock was coming on but a day later it didn't work either. Is it an A/C problem like I noticed in other similar questions or could this actually be a leak from outside somewhere.

Answer
Pam,
For the problems related to the A/C system not draining properly, that water would take a long time (several weeks/months) to accumulate.  But if you're seeing large amounts of water shortly after it's been raining, then that water is most likely coming in from outside.

There are fresh-air vents located under the windshield on the outside of the car, and also drain holes on either side.  It sounds like something is clogging the drain holes and that water finding it's way into your cabin.  I would recommend having a mechanic find and clear those drain holes.  But if it's recommended that dash be removed, that could get costly because it's labor intensive.  It's possible the previous owner knew about this problem, and that's why they sold it.
Good luck!
