Mitsubishi Repair: 97 Eclipse, RS, Manual, radiator coolant, radiator fluid

Question
Ok a few ?'s...

1. I hear there is no dipstick for my manual tranny, is that true?

2. I often have radiator fluid under my car after parking it on the hot summer day, is that something i should get checked out because it seems like a lot of cars have that prob.

3. I hear this noise kind of like a crackling, when i push in the clutch it goes away, from what i hear this is the throwout bearing? any imput?

Answer
David,
1. Correct.  Manual trannies do not have dipsticks

2. If you're sure its radiator coolant (it's greenish, with a somewhat sweet smell), then you should have it checked out.  You may have access fluid in your system or your radiator cap is worn.  But on hot days, most people run their air conditioners and running the A/C disspells water under the car even after it has been parked for a while.  That water is normal.

3. It's possible it's the throwout bearing, but it could also be a worn release fork, worn master or slave cylinder, or even air in the clutch line.  If you have over 80,000 miles on your current clutch, it may be time for a replacement.
Good luck!
