Land Rover Repair: Flashing M, S and Gear Indicator, inhibitor switch, gear indicator

Question
I have a discovery II with 62k miles.  After putting the car in park for a couple minutes, I was unable to shift back into drive.  I took the housing off of the shifter and pushed the button in order to shift out of park, however, the car wouldnt start.  I let it sit for a couple weeks and it started fine.  Now, the car starts occasionally.  I've noticed that the button I pushed to shift out of park is still depressed.  I checked the OBDII codes and got P0705 and P1668.  Also, the mode and gear indicator lights are flashing.

Answer
Hi Dave,

when you see those warning lights, it has something to do with your transmission.  The owner's manuals says to go immediately to your dealer for service.  I'd highly recommemd that you do this before damage can occur.

It could be just adjustments that are needed with the park inhibitor switch.  Not sure from where I'm sitting.

Best of luck,
