Mitsubishi Repair: 1994 mitsubishi eclipse 1.8 timing belt, change good luck, mitsubishi eclipse

Question
My husband is trying to change my sons timing belt on his 1994 1.8l eclipse. where are the marks, he can't fine them. Any more info would be greatly appreciated. alo pics would help.
Thank you in advance

Answer
Terri,
There is a timing mark on the cam sprocket and on top of the timing belt rear upper cover.  Those are the marks needed to align the cam sprocket.  If replacing the balance belt (which is recommended), there is a mark on one of the teeth of the crankshaft sprocket and on the balance shaft sprocket.  Their corresponding marks are on the engine block.  Align all marks to be safe.

Also, I highly recommend getting the factory service manual for a guide when doing a timing belt change.  But publishers like Haynes and Chiltons also sell service manuals for this car at your local auto parts stores.  These manuals will have all the pics needed to guide you to a successful timing belt change.
Good luck!
