Mitsubishi Repair: 92 Eclipse Turn signals not blinking, turn signal switch, emergency flasher

Question
When I move the column lever to indicate I'm turning right or left, the light on my dash is solid and doesn't blink on and off; tail and front signals not illuminating at all when turning.

The emergency flasher has what appears to be a blinking noise but only the left light on the dash blinks; no right light at all. The flasher unit was replaced but I still have the same problem.

Also, I checked the ohm readings with hazards on:

On left side front and back is 70/20; right side front and back is 20/5. Obviously I'm getting ohm loss. The dash, side panels, and rear panels have been removed and I have not found any cut wires.Connection at fuse block is good. All bulbs have intact double filaments.  Headlights, brights, brake lights all work; no problems. Grounds look tight.

Bottomline:  I need the signals to work in order to get a State Inspection sticker.

What else should I check?  Can an aftermarket signal device be installed?

Thanks,

Answer
Jeff,
Since you've already replaced the flasher unit, I'll assume that is fine.  But that does not rule out a problem with the hazard switch itself. You may want to replace that if you have not already.

The turn signal circuit is relatively simple and there isn't too much to go wrong.  It's possible your column switch (turn-signal switch) is malfunctioning.  These are all the items the factory service manual mentions as what can cause your particular problem, so the problem is most likely in one of your switches.  The hazard switch is only about $30, so you may want to try that first.  The turn-signal column switch is around $200, so replace that as a last resort.
Good luck!
