Mitsubishi Repair: engine running with low power, water remover, distributor cap

Question
i have a 1994 Galant ES 2.4L. when i start my car the engine starts but the power is weak. it runs very weak and stalls. its driveable but i when i push on the breaks it stalls. i changed the spark plugs still the same problem. could it be the cap or the wires?

Answer
Ernie,
Anytime you replace your spark plugs, it's usually a good idea to replace your plug wires, distributor cap, and distributor rotor.  In the colder months, water will accumulate inside the distributor cap.  This can cause hesitation, loss of power, and stalling.  These are all regular maintenance tune-up items that need replacing over time.  Other items to consider replacing are your air filter, fuel filter, and PCV valve.  If you get a lot of rain or snow in your area, add a bottle of water remove to your gas tank every fill-up.  You can buy water remover in just about any store that has an automotive section.
Good luck!
