Mitsubishi Repair: Eclipse speaker size, eclipseforums, openning

I have a 2000 eclipse with a 3.0 engine and i was wondering what size the front middle dashboard speaker is and how to replace it.

This speaker in the middle of the dash is not a common size of speaker.  And, most Eclipse owners complain that their speaker blows out after only a few years.  

It's a 3" speaker and the openning is roughly 3.5".  It is replaceable, but there are not many aftermarket 3" speakers on the market.  You'd have better luck finding a 3.5" speaker, and slightly modifying the speaker opening.
