Mitsubishi Repair: Linkage Adjustment, linkage, linkages

Question
(93 Eclipse, 2.0 DOHC, no turbo, manual)

My friend and I replaced the clutch in the vehicle yesterday and I think he put the linkage back togeather with out the correct washer and the car was actually going forward when the shifter was in the reverse position.  I think my father and I have now put the linkage togeather properly, I'm just wondering if any additional adjustments need to be made with the linkage for proper functioning.  Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

Answer
Matt,
A simle test to be sure your linkage is correct to drive the car in every gear.  If you can shift it all gears smoothly, then your linkage should be set.  The linkages in these cars have a tendency to come loose over time due to hard shifts or poor tighting of the nuts at the gearshifter.  Be sure everything is tightened down properly, and that you don't hear any loose metallic noises when shifting.  Other than that, you should be good to go!
Good luck!
