Mitsubishi Repair: changing rotors, montero sport, hub assembly

Question
I have a 1999 Mits. Montero Sport xls, 2 wheel drive, i have been trying to changing my brakes and rotors on my front tires, i get all the bolts off and remove the brakes and caliper, however, removing the rotor has been a problem, i have asked around, but have received different storyies on changing them...one story is that i have to remove the center hub, in the hub are prong like grooves, that i have been told requires a OTC socket, once the hub has been removed they said the bearing will come out and then the rotor will come of, another story is that i shouldnt have to do all that, unless i was trying to get to the axle only....any information would be appreciated, and if you could send that to my email addy...thank you very much.

Answer
Mark,
For your Montero, you are required to remove your hub assembly, bearing and few other pieces in order to remove your rotors.  I can't really tell you if you need a special socket to remove the hub assembly, but you may. See if your regular metric 17mm or 19 mm sockets will fit the bolts.  Also, inspect and replace your hub bearings if they appear worn.
Good luck!
