Mitsubishi Repair: mirage repairs and tunning, mitsubishi mirage, engine swaps

Question
i have a 98 mirage DE and i was just wondering where would be the best places to find the best repair manuels and what they are.  i was also looking for Do-It-Yourself  manuals when i get ready to create a tuner out of my 1.5 beast.  would you suggest a engine swap or should i be able to make enough tunes on it to be worth a quick and fun ride?  one more question, where can i find references for good ligitimate organizations to join?

Answer
James,
There aren't too many aftermarket service manuals for the later model Mirages.  The best service manual I would recommend would be from the dealership.  If you plan on doing a lot of work on your car, go with the factory service manual.  You can order one for your specific car right from the parts department at your local dealership.

Engine swaps are a huge pain to perform.  If you don't have that much experience with cars and no heavy duty tools (engine lift, air tools, etc.), then I definitely would not recommend an engine swap.

There are a number of forums you can sign up with on the internet for plenty of Mirage information.  Just do an internet search for 'Mitsubishi Mirage Forum' and you'll find plenty of organizations devoted to Mirage owners.
Good luck!
