Mitsubishi Repair: NO OIL PRESSURE, piston heads, mitsubishi eclipse

Question
I HAVE A 91'MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE 1.8L(5-SPEED).
MY TIMING BELT & CAM BELTS BROKE, I REPLACED BOTH BELTS AND SET THE TIMING CORRECTLY BUT NOW HAVE NO OIL PRESSURE. IF THE OIL PUMP IS NOT BAD WHAT ELESE COULD CAUSE THIS PROBLEM ?

Answer
Lynn,
I'm assuming your timing belt broke while the enging was running.  Since your timing belt broke, there is a good chance one or more of your valves may have gotten bent.  Also, your piston heads could have warped if they hit hard enough against the valves.  If these items were damaged, your engine could loose compression; which could cause your oil pressure to drop signifigantly.

Also, if the oil pump sprocket was not aligned correctly during the timing belt install, or if the oil pump sprocket is not turning properly, your oil pressure will also be affected.  Get a compression test done to verify your compression is within spec.  And also have your oil pump and pump sprocket inspected.
Good luck!
