Mitsubishi Repair: Need Help, mitsubish eclipse, fuel delivery system

Question
My 93 Mitsubish Eclipse GS 2.0 non-turbo runs hestating(more likely jerking) at low speed driving on accelation.
I have replaced the wires and plugs, but is still doing.
I can manage it to run smoother by holding the clutch not releasing it all the way.
Is it because of the clutch, fuel delivery system(lack of air), or ingition?
It gets worse when the A/C is on.
Idles drops down and running up and down like 300-600RPM.
Please advise if you know what's wrong with it.
Thanks in advance.

Answer
Sang,
You should have your intake system and your fuel system checked.  For your intake system, check all your intake hoses and make sure there are no cuts or cracks.  Replace your air filter if it has not been replaced in the past 12 months.  It would be a good idea to also replaced your PCV valve.  It's an inexpensive part (~ $5) and takes about 10 minutes or less to install.  It would also be a good idea to have your throttle body pulled from the car, inspected and cleaned.  Over time, the throttle bottle can get real dirty and restrict air flow. Another cause of "bucking" at low speeds is a clogged exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve.  It is located on your intake manifold, below your throttle body.

If it's been more than 2 years since you've replaced your fuel filter, that should be replaced as well.  That can get clogged over time and restrict fuel flow.  The fuel pump should also be inspected at that time as well.  A bottle of STP Complete Fuel System cleaner may also help.  Add a bottle of that during your next fill up.

Other areas of your ignition system that should be checked are your alternator, ignition coil pack, and your power transistor.  Your alternator can be load tested at any local AutoZone or Advanced Auto store for free.

Have those items inspected and hopefully your problem will be found and quickly resolved.
Good luck!
