Mitsubishi Repair: repair cost/total, auto salvage yard, auto salvage yards

Hi, I had a little fire in my car due to a short in the battery. Now it didnt get to the engine but the electrical system is shot also the fuse box by the engine/intake is gone. About how much would that cost to repair it all....mitsubishi/mirage 1.8L automatic. thanks alot

A new fuse box may be a bit pricey if you get one from the dealership; couple hundred dollars depending on availability.  Most mechanics would also recommend running all new battery cable assemblies (aroud $75-$100) and replacing any other various wires which may have been affected.  It's hard to quote an accurate price without a list of exactly what you might need.  This may cost you anywhere from $200-$500.  But if you can find used fuse box from an auto salvage yard, and all the wiring you need as well, you could save hundreds of dollars.  Call around to auto salvage yards in your area and tell them what you need.  If they don't have it there, they be able to find it for you at another one.
