Motorcycle Repair: 2000 cbr600f4 not charging, regulator rectifier, rectifier unit

Question
I have a 2000 cbr 600f4 new battery and the bike is not charging and what should be the voltage when the bike is running. is there a way for me to test the stator and rectifier

Answer

Hi Dale,

Connect to your battery with a multimeter and run the bike about
2000 RPM. You should get at least a 14-15 volt reading.

If not, disconnect the stator plug from the regulator/rectifier.
Check the yellow stator wires to ground and make sure none are
grounded.

Next connect between any two of the three yellow stator wires and run the bike.
Check the AC voltage. You should get a fairly high AC voltage
reading on any two of the yellow wires.
Something like 30-60 AC volts depending on the speed of the engine.
If the stator output is good but not the charging voltage at the battery
then check your connectors, wires and finally replace the regulator/rectifier unit.
All this assumes you have a good battery also.
