Motorcycle Repair: carburetor trouble, kawasaki bayou, makuni

Question
Hi ! I'm working on a 2003 kawasaki bayou that has good compression and fire, but wouldn't start so I pulled off carb completely rebuilt, it starts but will not idle when choke is off. Also it sputters it has a makuni carb any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance David.

Answer
Pilot Jet Screws (Fuel Mixture Screws) should be turned out 2 1/2 turns out.
Also set the Idel screw up a little so the throttle blades open a little more.
Double check all you carb manifolds for leaks. A crack or bad seal can also cause you problems.
