Motorcycle Repair: Honda c100 ignition switch, honda c100, positive earth

Question
I have an old Honda 50 c100 that I'm playing with. The wiring was a bit of a mess when  I got it, and I have a couple of questions.
Are these positive earth?  That seems to be what the wiring diagram says if I'm reading it correctly, but it just seems wrong to plug the red wire into the battery negative.
Does the blinker relay attach to anything?  It just seems to be floating around at the moment

Answer
Ralph, Honda has always been negative earth electrically, however the "ground" path for the electrics is a little confusing.

http://oldmanhonda.com/MC/WiringDiagrams/MCwiring.php#class  If you look at the C100 diagram and have the correct battery type connections, you will notice that the battery doesn't really "ground" to the chassis directly. The ignition switch is grounded to the frame, but it's main function there is to ground out the magneto when the switch is turned OFF.

If your battery has the correct connectors, the "ground" side is the red/blue connector. Red is B+ (positive).

Winker relay has RED and Gray wiring connectors and bolts to the frame with special shouldered bolt.
