Motorcycle Repair: zrx 1200 s, zrx 1200, carbies

hi mate i have just brought a zrx 1200 that has been sitting for 12 months it sounds like it isnt running on all cylinders but all plug are firing i have cleaned out the carbies they seem fine ive done compression test 1 and 2 are 150 psi and 3 and 4 are at 195 psi which i think seems high is this the case have you any suggestions

I am not that familiar with the zrx1200, but 195 vs 150 is almost a 25% variation, which is a little much but then again 150 is not that low.  repeat with a little (teaspoon) of thin oil in the cylinders and see if the value goes up, then you can establish if it is leaking at the valves or at the rings.

I would double check the carbs, making sure all the small jets are clean.  Big jets are easier but typically do not clog.
