Motorcycle Repair: 1962 honda dream 305 paint, plasti kote, honda dream

Question
Hi,
Can you help me with matching the original paint colour for the 1962 honda dream 305?
thanks

Answer
Will, they came in 4 colors for the US market. Which one did you need?

From my Honda Dream Restoration CD guide (for sale on my site) info:

Paint colors for Dream fuel tanks, fenders, side covers, shock covers, frames and other
associated painted parts (and seats) world-wide were:
Paint Code Vinyl code (Seat)
OLD CODE NEW CODE     OLD CODE NEW CODE
NH-1 B-Black          R-1L C-Red
NH-0 A-White          R-2L E-Scarlet
RT Z-Non-sanding Primer B-1L D-Light Blue
R-2 C-Scarlet Red     B-2L B-Blue
PB-1 N-Dark Blue      R-3L G-Dark Red
PB-2 D-Light Blue     NH-2L Q-White
PB-3 Q-Columbia Blue  NH-8L R-Dark Gray
PB-5 E- Royal Blue    NH-1L A-Black
Note: Not all colors listed above are for US-model Dreams.
Items like the carburetor covers, kickstarter cover, clutch cover can be painted
with Krylon "Dull Aluminum" or Plasti-Kote "Argent Metallic," Duplicolor Silver Wheel
Paint, among other finishes. Mazda SUNBEAM SILVER is also an option.

Noted Honda restorer, Ed Moore, suggests RED 6543UM (Pepsi Cola Red),
BLACK 99U, BLUE 63203UH (Future Farmer.s of America Blue) and SILVER
45040U IMRON paint codes for restoration of the painted parts.

Ford's Sunset Red is a good color match for Scarlet Red. There were two blue colors in the early 1960s, which are probably best color matched at an automotive paint store.
