Motorcycle Repair: Suzuki kingquad ltf300 water in engine?, suzuki kingquad, castrol gtx

Question
I have a suzuki king-quad 1995 300-cc and it has been sitting for a long time and has got water in through the exhaust and in the petrol and in the oil and the air filter. I was wondering how i can drain all this water out of the engine so it will run again for as cheap as possible, all help will be much appreciated, Thanks

Answer
Harley,This is a well known problem. One of my mechanics has the same machine and rides creeks and got the same problem. Here goes, drain the oils out, differentials if 4X4 and put in fresh gear lube.Blow out air filter and drain fuel tank put in fresh gas. Install a new spark plug and now try to drain the engine oil and put in a new oil filter. The oil can be a light cheap oil to start with. Get the unit running then bring it to operating temp then drain the cheap oil and change the filter. Put in another oil filter and put in the good 10W40 oil like Castrol GTX and run it some more this should help and be less than a $100.00 to fix. The water in the engine may shorten the bearing life some so be aware that it may fail earlier than expected.
