Motorcycle Repair: 1973 ironhead clutch problems., clutch problems, ironhead

Question
I have a 1973 ironhead XL and i have been working on it to get it running and i found that the clutch stays engaged. i have very little experience on motorcycles but i know that when you pull the cluth handle there is tension. also the transfer case is not completely full with oil. i have adjusted the cable all the way out and when the handle is pulled back a pop can be heard inside the case. thanks for the help.

Answer
Loosen the cable all the way and then loosen the adjuster inside the primary. Now push the cable inward, towards the inside of the primary. The actuator has to be back all the way to adjust it. Now adust the clutch and then the cable.
Good luck and happy riding
