Motorcycle Repair: signal lights, left turn signal, emergency circuit

My yamaha 04 left turn signal lights do not come on nor does the dash left indicator come on. I checked the fuse and its good. I believe it's a wiring problem but don't know where to check. I did not check the bulbs figuring that if both the side and rear don't come on i figured it can't be the bulbs. could you point me in the right direction? thanks

I'm not sure of the model you have,sometimes the handle bar switch is the culprit and only works on one side The flasher on some models has terminals for both sides as well as a emergency circuit to use both sides of flasher. The switch is usually the problem but the whole unit has to be replaced and the assembly can be quite pricey,around $90.00.
