Motorcycle Repair: Speedometer stopped working, flstf, speedometer

Hello,  I have a 1996 HD FLSTF that the speedometer stopped working on yesterday on my way into work.  I was running around 65 when I looked down and saw the needle just spin and go back to 0.  The trip and odometer stopped working as well. The lights on the gauge still work and turn signals stil canclel out.  I am unsure what has happened.  Can you please advise, thanks in advance.

Either your speedo has gone out or the pickup unit. the problem is there is no test you can do to see which one it is. You can take it in to a dealer and they hav a way to test the speedo. So they only thing you can do yourself is to have it tested or replace the speedo pickup unit and hope that is the problem
