Motorcycle Repair: Stock exhaust on 2010 Fatbob, drag pipes, stock exhaust

Hey Mike. I'd like to pull the baffles from my stock exhaust to make it sound better. Would this cause any motor damage, ie burnt valves? Can I do this without remapping? Thanks for the help.

Removing the baffles makes your exhaust drag pipes. You will get a louder sound, but you will lose horsepower in midrange. Drag pipes work very well at high RPMs and is not where we all ride. I would go with a new exhaust that is tuned and has the sound you are looking for. Either way you would have to remapp. Your bike came from the factory lean and changing the exhaust makes it even leaner
