Motorcycle Repair: cv carb, cv carb, intermediate jet

Question
what size jet would be best in a panhead with std heads

Answer
Jetting has to do with what exhaust you are running as well as high flow heads and what cams you are running.
I would start with the jets that are in it. Start the bike and once it warms up, adjust the air/fuel misture screw. You turn it inward just until the bike starts to stummble and then outward about 1/4 of a turn.
Now go for a ride. Do not go over 2500 RPM. What you are going to do is set the intermediate jet. If the bike pops throught he exhaust the jet is to small, popping through the carb or the bike does not feel lik it will take gas then it to large.
Once you have it set do the same thing as above, but ride over 3000 RPM. What you are doing is checking the main jet.
Once you are done go back and redue the air/fuel misture screw
Good luck and happy riding
