Motorcycle Repair: bad olie spil, oil tank, web side

shovelhead fx 1973  standard oilepump, breather-normal spils cup of olie after months not used,...now she spits out 4.lts of olie from crank breather.just standing stil  4months!!!!!
do i need a new olie pump?, or can i repair it.   a diagram of pump- plus what i must re-new,.. would be a GREAT HELP.

the problem you are having is oil is weeping out of the oil tank to the motor. There is a ball and spring in the oil pump which is suppose to keep this from happening. Over time the spring gets weak or the ball gets some carbon on it. Looking at the top of th eoil pump you will see 2 screws. The one in the back had the spring and ball. You either have to draint he oil or pinch the feed ling off. Pull the ball out with a magnet and inspect it. Change the spring and install a new ball if its pitted. You can also tap the ball to reseat it with a punch. Just tap it however
