Motorcycle Repair: Bleeding Brakes, bleeding brakes, rear brakes

Question
Hi. My 1971 Shovelhead has been sitting since july 4, cause the brakes need to be bled. I am tired of waiting for my husband to do it so I'd really like someone to tell me if and how I can manually bleed the rear brakes, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they are disc brakes because we just put on new pads. It has a banana caliper if that makes any difference. Hey, i may not know alot about repairs but I can diagnose just about aqnything wrong on my bike...I figure its time i learn to fix em too.
Thanks! TRISH

Answer
Look on the caliber and you will see a bleed nut with a hole in it. Loosen it and then just slightly snug it up. Remove the cover on the master cylinder and make sure its full. Pump the brake and while holding it down, open the bleeder. Close the bleeder and pump the brake. Keep doing it like above until you get a stream of fluid without bubbles in it.
Good luck and happy riding
