Motorcycle Repair: 2004 FLSTCI Harley Davidson front shock, shock body, oil seal

Question
QUESTION: My front shock has come loose from the frame (the threaded piece which screws into the shock body and acts as an oil seal). How do I fix it and what oil does it take? This morning was the first time I noticed the problem.

ANSWER: Are you refering to the top cap by the handlebars? Did you lose any oil?

QUESTION: Yes, basically all of it on the left fork. (sitting on the bike)

Answer
If it has just come loose then all you need to do is tighten it back up. If you lost oil then you would have to drain the oil out and put in new oil at the correct amount. If you didnt lose any oil or less than a oz then you dont need to worry about it
Good luck and happy riding
