Motorcycle Repair: permanent fairing removal, handlebar, speedo

i have a 2002 flhtc and would like to remove the fairing permanently! I don't like the wieght. I was just wondering what i have to do with all the wiring. I want it plain with just a windshield, maybe some advice as to how to install another speedo on it to. Thanks  mike

That is quit a project you are taking on. You would have to get a wiring diagram and follow it to see what you can either shorten or get rid of. You would have to end up putting what you need inside the headlight, like the bikes do now.
To put a speedo on you can get one that will fit the handlebar or you would have to change the tank and install one there
